NSW Joins ARM Technology Access Program
Japanese Membership Increased to Four Which Expands Total Design Service Capability Within the ATAP Program
CAMBRIDGE, England and TOKYO, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARM
[(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMHY - news)], the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit
embedded RISC processor solutions, and NIPPON SYSTEMWARE CO., LTD. (NSW) today
announced that NSW has joined ATAP(TM), the ARM technology access program.
With this agreement, NSW will provide system logic design services, both to
ARM's silicon Partners and system companies embedding ARM® CPUs in
electronic products, in the areas of information technology, intelligent home
appliances and car electronics, where the market is expected to grow rapidly.
With the addition of NSW to the ATAP program, the number of participants
in Japan grows to four, further enhancing ARM design services in Japan.
This
also demonstrates the increasing demand of total solution services including
hardware and software of ARM core-based system-on-chip (SoC) designs.
"NSW offers the total solution service for ARM technology-based solutions,
integrating software development and device development from ASIC to SoC and
board," said Kiyoharu Kanai, executive managing director, NSW.
"Joining the
ATAP program will enable us to offer high quality, total solutions which is
based on our long-term experience, to ARM's Partners."
"NSW brings software and system expertise, in addition to their silicon
design skills, to the design of ARM-core based SoC designs," said David Lewis,
ARM ATAP program manager.
"This expertise provides optimal system
partitioning and early prototyping, reducing time-to-market for our Partners'
design solutions."
About the ATAP Program
There are currently 26 Partners in the ATAP program, with a resource of
more than 2,400 engineers available to work on ARM core-based SoC designs.
ATAP design Partners must go through a strict qualification process to become
an ARM Approved Design Center.
This includes a design flow audit, training on
implementing designs with ARM cores, tools, AMBA® interface peripherals and
development techniques.
Each Design Center must demonstrate its own unique
skills in specific technology domains, as well as end-market expertise.
The
ATAP program also provides additional benefits such as geographic and
time-zone locality and local language support.

ATAP program, please email info@arm.com or visit the ARM Web site.
